If I was a fairy I would fly away
somewhere towards rainbow
and there I would stay.
If I was a unicorn I would run from here;
somewhere along the horizon -
I would leave everything behind and not let a tear.
If I was a mermaid I would swim deep -
the darkness of the ocean would be my new home;
I would never wish for the sun. Not even while I'm asleep.
If I was a dwarf I would dig underground.
I would leave the grass, the trees…
Everything dear to me would be left behind.
If I was -
But I am not.
There were fairies, which had run away.
There were unicorns that dared not to stay.
The mermaids were banished by the humans on the see
Dwarves saw the way that this world is to be.
Now I am left with no magic in me.
Listen again – the wind, the rain, the sea.
You will be surprised what you are to see.
Listen to what's dead; to magic that doesn't seem to live.
And trust me; it starts again if you just believe.
